On May 31 at 7:30 pm delegate caucuses will take place in each of 5 Congressional districts.
Delegates representing Bernie Sanders will be elected by the following schedule.
D1....2 Female 2 Male
D2....2 Male 2 Female
D3....2 Female 1 Male
D4....2 Male 1 Female
D5....2 Female 2 Male
A total of 18 delegates will be elected.
Diversity rules apply to the composition of the delegation.
No caucus locations have been announced.
The Sanders Campaign has not been involved in the process yet in the state....as far as we know..so people in some districts have taken it upon themselves to work with others to campaign to elect delegates and some are trying to build a Bernie delegation that fully complies with the delegate selection rules. You may be hearing from people asking you to support their delegate team.
This is unusual, in that the campaigns usually are engaged in the process...or they designate a local person to work on it...
We have not heard of any activity..or any CT designee ..The Campaign was sent a list of all who signed up ..but has not released the list to anyone in CT or indicated any preference or denial of anyone who signed up as far as we know...
In that case.. the normal political side of the information about the process to build a solid Bernie slate and how it can work for people to participate is up in the air...I cannot supply answers on the outcomes as I have no concrete information from the campaign...only guesses.
Check out the rules at ctdems.org if you want to see specifics about the process
On June 7 the remainder of the Bernie delegate slate ...a total of 9 ..will be voted on by the state central committee...again..we have not heard of any campaign preferences being made...yet..
If you signed up to be a delegate you must be elected in Caucus May 31 or by Dem State Central June 7...unless you know you have been elected....you should not be securing travel tickets or hotel rooms or making your made-for-tv delegate t-shirts ....do not assume signing up automatically makes you a delegate...
But we hear there are plans brewing for lots of Philly events for those who are not Delegates to the Convention..and want to make some noise and show your Bernie shirts......that may be where all the real action is....
The Revolution begins July 25.....inside AND outside the Wells Fargo Center in Philly.
